About GCL
| Origin | China |
|---|---|
| Headquarters | Suzhou, Jiangsu, China |
| Founded | group in 1990; photovoltaics since 2006 |
GCL Group was founded in 1990 and started its photovoltaic activity in 2006, initially with a strong presence in materials such as polysilicon and wafers.
GCL System Integration consolidated the cell, module and storage business and listed in Shenzhen in 2015. The group also invests in next-generation technologies such as perovskite — which does not mean that all commercial modules use that route.
Focus and technology
GCL focuses on photovoltaic materials, high-efficiency modules, storage and energy solutions.
- N-type TOPCon: the basis of recent commercial cell and module lines
- Materials integration: the group's experience in polysilicon, wafers and other links of the chain
- Perovskite in development: a next-generation technology being industrialised; it should be distinguished from the silicon modules sold today
Strengths
- broad vertical integration
- a group active in photovoltaics since 2006
- investment in current and future technologies
What to check before buying
Do not advertise a standard GCL module as "perovskite" without explicit confirmation in the datasheet. Compare the actual commercial technology of the code.
Buying GCL equipment in Brazil
Check the importing company, the series and the warranty support. The breadth of GCL Group can produce documents issued by different subsidiaries.
