REFU Elektronik was founded in Stuttgart in 1965 to make frequency converters. It presented its first OEM photovoltaic inverter in 1997.

The REFUsol brand reached the market in 2007. After changes in ownership it returned to PRETTL Group and today offers families from 20 kW to 350 kW and hybrid solutions.
