Rudolph Schelling and Hermann Stäubli founded a workshop in Horgen, Switzerland, in 1892. The group grew in textiles, robotics, fluid connections and electrical connectivity.
In 2002 Stäubli acquired Multi-Contact, a connector company founded in Basel in 1962. MC4 photovoltaic technology became a reference in the portfolio; MC4 is a protected trademark, not a generic name for any similar plug.
Focus and technology
Stäubli focuses on original MC4 photovoltaic connectors and contact technology.
- Maker of the original MC4 photovoltaic connector
- Its own industrial history and contact technology
- Dedicated documentation, tools and assembly procedures
What to check before buying
Do not mate Stäubli MC4 with "compatible" connectors from other brands. Use the pair from the same family, the correct contact, an approved crimping tool, cable within the permitted range, crimp inspection and the cable gland torque.
Buying Stäubli equipment in Brazil
Check provenance and authenticity, as counterfeit or mixed connectors can have high contact resistance. Keep the packaging, part number and supplier traceability.
