Wuxi Suntech was founded in 2001 and started its first industrial module line the following year. It played an important role in the early expansion of Chinese photovoltaic manufacturing and listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2005.

After a restructuring, Suntech was acquired by Shunfeng group in 2014 and kept its production and brand. Current lines should be assessed separately from earlier product generations.

Focus and technology

Suntech focuses on crystalline silicon modules for distributed generation and solar farms.
